Faith Ongey is a beauty entrepreneur and the CEO/founder of Sheacrown Organics. She has been at the forefront of using the social media to educate and offer free consultative services on beauty tips, natural hair growth, maintenance and styling. Faith has spent time in her kitchen developing her popular recipe composing of food grade ingredients that has become the yardstick of the Sheacrown Organics brand. Her goal is to secure a position of strength in the billion-dollar industry as her catalogue of purely vegan products continues to grow.

The desire to transform this vision into action started from a very humble beginning by developing hair care products for family consumption. Frustrated by moving from one product line to another and not finding solution for her own hair, she began concocting her own vegan recipes which they have used for over half a decade, growing, styling and maintaining hair and beard. Faith’s husband, Dr. Elvis Ongey, has a very thick and attractive power beard facial representation all thanks to her exquisite recipe. She started applying her recipe on her daughter’s hair from birth and now she has the most amazing hair in terms of length, health, volume and shine.

Faith’s journey is an inspirational tale of success in the face of adversity. When she moved from Cameroon to Germany in late 2015, the winter season facilitated a drastic and regrettable destruction that left her hair more brittle and susceptible to slight mechanical stress. The condition of her hair continued to deteriorate until she decided to go bald by scraping every bit of hair from her scalp. Faith had little knowledge on how to grow and maintain natural hair, but her husband (Dr. Ongey) intervened used his knowledge in biochemistry to explain how her prior hair care routine may have contributed to the horrifying experience. Together with him, they started researching on products that could maintain the health of her hair while facilitating growth and ease of management. The results of Faith’s self-/hand-made recipes were astonishing and incontrovertible. It became a hobby for her to concoct different recipes for her family and close friends.

In February of 2020 Faith moved to the United States to join her husband who had just been offered a position to work for the National Institutes of Health. Barely six weeks after entering the US with a six-month old daughter, the country went into COVID-19 lockdown. It was a devastating experience for Faith as she occasionally felt like she was in prison. She thought of a million ideas to keep a sane mind while taking care of her daughter. Faith engaged in creating video tutorials, writing articles and publishing still photo contents on various social media platforms. While engaging in all these activities, she was also busy developing her exquisite recipes for local community consumption.

After completing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and working for a fashion company for two years, Faith did not identify how her activity could create an impact to the society until she began offering free consultations on natural, creating educative contents online and sharing her self-/hand-made products with family and friends. Faith’s mantra when she planted the vigorously sprouting seed of what would eventually expand into the Sheacrown Organics brand was simple. “A purely vegan product that works is the password for beauty”. This is hardly the standard that is observed in the mission of popular beauty products available on the market, characterized by harsh chemicals and minimal active ingredients that may likely not produce the desire results.

The research and development phase of the products was challenging but the passion kept Faith moving and she soon realized that she was onto something when she received positive feedbacks from people who tested the products and noticed drastic improvements in growth, health and beauty of their hair within just a few weeks of use. Furthermore, Faith’s research came to the conclusion that there are only a few beauty products available on the shelves of retail shops that meet a premium method of production but the need for products that deliver the desired/intended effects was highly demanded. Faith then decided to expand her initial objective of developing products for family consumption and began the process of establishing Sheacrown Organics.

After half a decade of making products for her own family, Sheacrown Organics was born in 2021 with two products, a hair growth oil (EpicGro) and a five-in-one moisturizing cream (Shea Butter 5-in-1 Leave-in Cream), and five others in the pipeline including a curl activation cream, a shampoo, a leave-in conditioner, a deep conditioner and a protein treatment. Each of these products are home-made creation of Sheacrown Organics and hold true to the mission of the company to use animal free organically sourced ingredients to produce hair and body care products that offer ultimate solutions to challenging beauty problems.
